Why aren’t people buying from your online store?
There is always going to be drawbacks to selling your products online rather than in person. If your ecommerce store isn’t tackling these drawbacks head on, there you are likely going to be loosing some of your online customers.
So here are some of those online shopping drawbacks that you can actually do something about.
1 - People just aren’t sure whether your product is right for them.
Consider your videos and photography of each product, are they high resolution and clear enough? It’s important to offer a lot of different photo variations of the products, showcasing all the angles and possible view points of your online products. Could you offer a virtual try on option? This can really help your customer work through any worries or concerns to what that product looks like when it’s being worn for example. Make sure your product descriptions are as detailed as possible.
2 - When people are buying from your online store, they tend to get distracted.
There isn’t always a huge amount you can do about stopping those external distractions. But something you can do is to send them an abandoned cart notification in their email, just to remind them that they still have products in their cart.
3 - You’re not providing enough shipping and payment options.
Take a moment to consider where your users are coming from. This would be a great opportunity to check out your website analytics and make sure that you are serving your customers with all of the shipping options possible in their country.
